Nazmina Dhanji completed her degree in Arabic at SOAS, University of London, including modules in translation, Qurʾan and ḥadīth studies, Islamic texts, Post-Ottoman History of the Middle East, and Persian. After spending a year in Damascus University consolidating her knowledge of the Arabic language and rhetoric (balāgha), she went on to pursue further Islamic studies at Jāmʿiat al-Zahrā in Qom. She has translated and edited numerous works for publication, and subtitled documentaries and films from Arabic into English. Being a passionate polyglot and keen to share her enthusiasm for teaching and learning languages, she has taught classes and developed curricula in Arabic, French and English as a Foreign Language. Her current areas of interest are Arabic language and grammar, Islamic ethics and spirituality, Qurʾanic sciences, tafsīr, ḥadīth studies and interfaith relations.
